Registered Nurse, Transitional Care Unit- Nights

Summary Clinical Nurse (RN) - Transitional Care Unit Put your nursing expertise to work at a Magnet-designated, university-affiliated hospital located just six blocks from Baltimore's Inner Harbor by joining the team at Mercy Medical Center's Transitional Care Unit (TCU). Our Clinical Nurses in TCU independently provide continuing care and complex treatments to patients presenting with varied medical and surgical interventions. Working with a dedicated rehabilitation team, the RN provides evidence-based, high-quality patient care and safety, and serves as a resource for other team members. EOE Requirements EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE * Education and Work Experience: * Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam * BSN Preferred * Must possess 1 year of current clinical experience * Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS * License Requirements: * RN License * Certification Requirements: * Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire * Specialty Certifications: * PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire or 6 months of promotion * ED - ACLS within 6 months of hire/promotion & ENPC or PALS within 1 year * Mother/Baby, NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion * Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 1 year of hire * Telemetry - ACLS within 1 year of hire, within 18 months of hire if new grad * Chemotherapy Clinic (Outpatient Chemo) - ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification within 1 year of hire and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification within 2 years of hire * Age Specific Care Provided For: * Neonates * Pediatrics * Adolescents * Adults * Geriatrics * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access, Excel * Microsoft Outlook * Meditech * Epic * Performance Manager/NetLearning * Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: * Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. * Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. * Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. * Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. * Other Requirements: * Critical thinking * Prioritization * Adaptability
