Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to perform cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain the floors of assigned buildings. Must maintain and keep current records of all cleaning supplies and equipment and perform inventory and budget control as requested.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have at least one (1) years' experience in janitorial/floor work.
  • Able to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
  • Able to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift at least 60 pounds.
  • Flexible hours, when needed to work in evenings one (1) night a week.
  • Must be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of sixty (60) pounds.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
