JOB DESCRIPTIONOur client is seeking a Systems Engineer Expert for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. The Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.


How a Systems Engineer Expert Will Make An Impact:

Will coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
Will serve as a team or task lead.
Will create, maintain, and evaluate engineering documents, proposal documents, network diagrams.
Analyzes customer requirements and solves unusually complex problems with highly innovative solutions
Provides expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and telecom equipment
Provides expert knowledge for maintaining network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
Analyzes, evaluates and plans method of approach and organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems
Develops advanced engineering ideas and guides their development into a final product
Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
Perform highly advanced network/systems design, development, and integration from the start of a project life cycle to the end
Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining network devices, telecom equipment, radio equipment, operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Consults with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions
Recognized as an industry leader in network engineering



What You'll Need to Succeed:

Active Secret clearance
Leadership Experience
History of working in a Government Cisco environment
Master's Degree and 15+ years of experience or 21 years of experience in lieu of degree.
Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher Work is onsite in Hampton, Virginia
