Ernie's On The Creek is a new riverfront open-concept dining experience nestled on the Paint Creek river in Downtown Rochester, MI. Under the same ownership as Rochester Corner Bar, Ernies On The Creek will feature a Mediterranean food menu paired with craft cocktail drinks to compliment the overall customer experience.

The General Manager Position

Ernie's is looking for aGeneral Managerto oversee Ernie's front of house operations, including administrative functions such as inventory, ordering, scheduling, budgeting, cost accounting etc. They will also be responsible for the bar and customer experience, including managing and training employees on the restaurant floor, managing work schedules, coordinating reservations with the host, ensuring health and safety is top priority, reviewing financial statements to maintain profitability, managing suppliers, bar inventory and ordering, cash registers, assist in the hiring process, etc.


For an individual to be successful as theGeneral Manager, they need to have a high level of enthusiasm and passion for their work, ability to be self-motivating, business savvy, and maintain good leadership.


Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the General Manager Position

  • Management experience in the Food & Beverage industry is preferred
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant/catering is required
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, and teamwork
  • Knowledge of industry health and safety standards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Software experience in POS, Microsoft Office, and Liquor Control System


Compensation, Benefits, & Structure for the General Manager Position

This is a full-time, permanent position (averaging 35-40 hours per week) that offers a competitive salary based on skills and experience, bonus plan potential based on company success, paid time off, discounts on products, and growth potential within the company. TheGeneral Managerreports to the Owner.


The position will combine hands-on and administrative tasks throughout each week, allowing flexibility in the work schedule.
