Job Summary:
Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Street Medicine Physician to join our team. In this role, you will provide primary care and urgent care services to individuals experiencing homelessness, including those struggling with substance use disorders. Your expertise in harm reduction approaches and experience working with resource-limited settings will be essential in this position.

About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. As a member of our outreach team, you will engage in proactive outreach, coordinate with healthcare organizations, and develop policies and procedures to support our Street Medicine program. You will also have the chance to build collaborations with community partners and organizations involved in homeless services.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide primary care and urgent care services to individuals experiencing homelessness
* Coordinate with healthcare organizations to help patients transition into traditional facility-based care
* Build collaborations with community partners and organizations involved in homeless services
* Develop and review Street Medicine policies and procedures
* Develop training materials and sessions for other Street Medicine staff

Requirements:
* MD or DO degree
* Completion of residency training in psychiatry, family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, or preventive medicine
* Experience with medical care for people experiencing homelessness preferred
* Experience with substance use care preferred
