Job Description
The Massapequa Public Schools currently have openings for friendly, energetic and reliable Cleaners to join our team. The chosen candidates will be hard-working, dedicated team-players who take pride in providing a clean, orderly environment for our students and staff.
A Cleaner is responsible for the following typical duties:
- sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing walls, windows and other equipment/facilities, emptying waste baskets, disposing of assorted rubbish, refilling paper towels, toilet paper, etc
- cleansing and disinfecting of bathrooms, kitchens and other areas,
- set-up/move/remove furniture for various building needs
- secure windows/doors and other areas
- remove snow/leaves/debris from the immediate vicinity of buildings
- general painting and other basic maintenance tasks
- other basic tasks as assigned by their supervisor

Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to lift as much as 50lbs
- Ability to stand/walk most of the work day
- Ability to pass a background screening by Civil Service (fingerprinting will be necessary at employee's own expense)
