VP – Investments and Portfolio Risk Manager, Private Bank

Purpose of the role To support the Risk Function in delivering it’s objective of safeguarding the bank's financial and operational stability by proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across various business units and activities. Accountabilities Development of strategic direction for risk, including the implementation of up-to-date methodologies and processes. Management of the risk department, including oversight of risk colleagues and their performance, implementation of risk priorities and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness. Relationship management of risk stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third-party services. Adherence to the Risk policy, standards and frameworks, and maintaining a robust control environment. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and elevate breaches of policies/procedures.. We have an exciting opportunity to join Barclays as a VP – Investments and Portfolio Risk Manager, Private Bank. You will cover risk oversight over Private Bank Singapore Investments, both from a fiduciary investment risk and a credit collateral/derivative margining basis and have responsibility over portfolio risk management. You will also provide oversight to ensure that the Private Bank Singapore Investments discretionary offering is managed within Risk thresholds, provide credit collateral lending value recommendations on credit requests and provide derivative initial margin recommendations. You will work alongside existing Finance/Reg Reporting and Global Risk teams with local and global portfolio risk reporting requirements. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills. To be successful for the role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience: Expertise in understanding lending value methodologies for various financial asset types Expertise in understanding derivatives margining methodologies Fiduciary investment risk oversight experience Excellent understanding of Asian financial assets and markets Excellent portfolio reporting and risk management skills Barclays is required by law to confirm that you have the Legal Right to Work in any role that you apply for.
