*SCOPE OF POSITION*

This position will demonstrate competency in the care of the (circle all that apply): Neonate, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric patient population.
The In-service/Education Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Agency’s orientation of new employees and providing staff development education for staff members. Ensures mandatory programs. Infection control (TB, mask fitting, etc., are completed.) Works with PI Coordinator to develop plans to continually improve patient care.
This position may be required to cross train within the agency. Responsibilities in secondary position may require access to medical records and other computer access exceeding routine computer usage. Access to patient information may be necessary to fulfill the requirements of this role; therefore, adherence to Ballad Health's privacy and security policies and practices is a must. This Educator position is primarily for Hospice and backs up home health education.

*EDUCATION EXPERIENCE*
Must be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Must be licensed in the Nursing in the appropriate state. Completion of Health Assessment course from a University or Nursing Education program is desirable. Must have at least 1 year med/surg nursing and 1 year home health experience (2 years experience in home health preferred). Must successfully complete agency orientation. Must have dependable transportation. Must carry current personal collision and liability insurance on any vehicle driven. Must maintain current driver’s license in the appropriate state.
The competency and practice of point of care testing is under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director and/or designee per regulatory rule #1200-6-3-15 Alternate Site Testing, Section (1)(c), 9 of the Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board Division of Health Related Boards. This practice is a collaborative process with the Laboratory and Nursing leaderships.
Must possess and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
