Role - Onsite Power BI/Cognos Lead

Location - Chicago, IL (Day1 onsite)

Job Type - Fulltime/Contract


Job Description:

Primary skills: Power BI, Cognos

10+ Years of experience in BI

3+ years of experience in Power BI and 4+ years of exp. in Cognos reporting

Experience in delivering projects in Agile

Experience in managing/leading teams and implement BI projects

Lead – Responsible for leading BI development projects

Develop, design and test BI Reports and Dashboards based on user requirements

Mentor team members and help them on any techanical challenges they face

Implementing complex DAX measures in Analysis services models and in Power BI

Very good understanding of SQL

Improve - Work with the team to pragmatically and continually reduce the gap between getting things done fast and getting things done right

Communicates to all team members any new requirements, changes, updates on all support related information company information

Work collaboratively with Business Analyst to identify and gather detailed business requirements

Propose prototypes or wire frames based on business requirements

Co-ordinate with other teams for functional requirements, code deployment, unit testing, system integration testing

Perform Internal code review, requirements review

Coach developers on best practices and standards

Experienced in data integration through extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) data from various sources

Exposure to variety data sources (SQL, Cloud, other)

Design, develop and implement Cognos Framework Manager and Transformer models for Cognos BI reporting environment

Work with Business Analysts, Application Developers, Solution Architects, and Database Developers in analyzing business requirements and specifications and translating those requirements into Reporting design

Develop complex Cognos reports with an emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery.

Work with users from a variety of business area’s in identifying and developing reports. Heavy emphasis placed on delivering results, working well across business and technical teams, leveraging Agile methodologies, and enabling innovative solutions.

Provide training, support and best practices for Adhoc query users.

Facilitating status meetings and provide updates to client stakeholders

Responsible for delivery of the project

Excellent communication skills

Secondary skills: SQL
