Your growth is key to our ongoing success—take the lead in shaping your career development, goals and futureJob Summary:NRG’s Corporate Strategy team is responsible for defining and developing successful strategies to enhance the business, drive the corporate vision, and meet other high-priority corporate objectives. The team serves as a centralized source of analysis and insight that looks across the entirety of the business to determine appropriate pathways to value. The team also engages in early-stage and emerging opportunity identification, investment and testing to promote sustained value creation and competitive advantage.The Associate, Corporate Strategy will assume a role in a high-visibility team that works alongside NRG’s discovery & insights function and other key corporate and business unit teams to define the next several years for NRG. The Corporate Strategy team also houses Consumer Insights and Corporate Venture Capital.In this role, you will:Contribute to the development market, competitive, and opportunity assessments aligned with NRG’s mission and visionProvide deep dive analysis and insights on emerging trends, sectors and technologies relevant to NRG’s future growthTranslate findings into clear, compelling presentations and reports for senior audiencesProvide ad hoc analytical and project support for internal teamsAttend relevant sector events to build network and better understand potential opportunities for NRGSupport the annual strategic planning process on an as needed basisSupport the Discovery & Innovation function on an as needed basisWorking Conditions:Located in Princeton, NJ or Houston, TX officeHybrid workforce segmentation; 3 days per week in officeSome overtime required as special projects ariseSome travel may be required1-3 years of work experience on a fast-paced, analytics-driven teamExperience conducting research, managing data and generating insightsProficiency in PowerPoint and ExcelPreferred Qualifications:Corporate strategy, management consulting, private equity or venture capital experienceExperience in energy, consumer service and/or technology sectorsProficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI or TableauAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong analytical and critical thinkingData driven approach to problem solvingAbility to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insightsProactive self-starter with ability to navigate ambiguityNaturally curious and inquisitive; willing to think outside the boxTeam player with ability to collaborate to ensure analysis robustnessAbility to create high-impact presentations with clear articulation of key messagesPassionate about problem solving and balancing analytics with creative solutions to achieve an objective.The base salary range for this position is: $ 90,000 - 100,000* *The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
