Job Summary As a senior member of the Wellstar Brand and Marketing Team, the Director of Brand Strategy will own the Wellstar Master Brand and help create the experiences that inspire our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. The position reports to the AVP, Brand and Marketing Strategy, partners with other teams across the Marketing Division, and oversees up to two direct reports. Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions Brand Strategy Ensure brand positioning remains differentiated and delivers on consumer needs. Maintain and update the Wellstar Brand Guidelines, including Visual Identity and Brand Architecture. Develop multi‑year brand strategy plans, partner to create long‑term plans and annual goals, and support Wellstar’s vision and mission through consumer and marketplace insights. Lead Brand KPI definition, tracking, and quarterly reporting. Partner with creative and integrated marketing teams to evolve and execute the core creative idea. Knowledge and Insights Capability Leverage syndicated and proprietary data, experts, and trendwatchers to understand macro forces affecting healthcare. Plan and spend on custom research to enhance the knowledge base for Wellstar. Monitor Wellstar Brand Health against key factors driving patient (consumer) engagement and educate the organization on consumer, marketplace, and competitive trends. Strategic Leadership Create and promote the Wellstar Brand narrative to increase visibility and positive messaging. Educate the organization on Brand Architecture and the role of each stakeholder in advancing the Brand. Deliver executive leadership updates on insights, brand, and marketing strategy issues. Drive system alignment to Wellstar Brand Positioning and key marketing strategies. Team Management Directly manage the Integrated Marketing Manager(s). Coach and develop talent, recommend staffing, and create development opportunities. Perform any additional duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in media, communications, business, marketing, or a related field. Required Minimum License(s) And Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Additional License(s) And Certification(s) None listed. Required Minimum Experience Minimum seven years of experience working at a large consumer brand and/or an advertising agency in strategic planning/brand strategy role. Preferred Experience Agency or consulting firm experience. Healthcare or CPG industry exposure or background. Required Minimum Skills Proficient in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of a wide range of strategic tools (data/analytics, profiles, research). Experience translating data into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations; proficiency in PowerPoint required. Proven experience leading integrated strategy for transformative, business‑driving work. Exceptional ability to author strategic documents, distill research into actionable insights, and provide unexpected strategic perspectives that lead to creative and business opportunities. Superior multitasking, networking, time‑management, and interpersonal skills. Passion for problem solving and a do‑whatever‑it‑takes mentality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across seniority levels and business functions; natural presenter comfortable in client meetings. Operates independently and efficiently, managing multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
