Job Title: Contractor Maintenance Planner (Contract)

Location:  Ingleside, Texas

Shift: 1st (Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm)

Pay Range: $36 - $44 per hour

 

The Chemours Corpus Christi facility located in Ingleside, Texas has an opening for a Contractor Maintenance Planner position. This position will report to the Site Contract Administrator.

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Contractor Maintenance Planner role is fundamental and critical to the effective and efficient execution of maintenance work through job planning, estimating, obtaining and receiving materials to execute maintenance work within the boundaries established by management.

The Contractor Maintenance Planner interacts frequently with Operators, Mechanics, Storeroom personnel, Area Operations, and Resident Contractors.

The Contractor Maintenance Planner partners closely with the Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisors, and the Reliability Engineers.

The Contractor Maintenance Planner is responsible for the preparation of detailed work packages and job plans that include equipment, parts, materials, documentation, and special tools and for the delivery of these parts and services when they are needed.

The Contractor Maintenance Planner maintains an appropriate backlog of effectively planned work ready for scheduling when maintenance resources are available.

The position will maintain established metrics of performance to ensure the maintenance function continues to improve.

 

The primary function of this position is to improve equipment availability and minimize expenditures through the effective management of services and repairs by providing effective planning and assembling of necessary resources and materials.

 

Plans all maintenance work orders in SAP for site contractor disciplines including piping, scaffolding, insulation, electrical, etc. by analyzing basic job steps, determining their relative sequence, and identifying parts, materials, special tools, skills, and personnel requirements for each step.  Reviews engineering drawings and sketches necessary to complete the work order plan.

Screens each work order request for proper completion, discusses the details with the originating area, and ensures the work is clearly defined and properly authorized.

Develops estimate for craft hours, labor, and material costs for each work order.

Uses work order prioritization plan from the Maintenance Coordinator.

Reviews the work area for potential safety hazards and makes appropriate notes in the job plan.

Creates a list of materials by quantity and type that are required to perform work requested.  Develops and communicates material staging plan and ensures job kits are prepared and ready before they are needed for the job.

Identifies needs for support work orders such as sheet metal work, scaffolding, insulation removal, heavy equipment, rigging, etc.

Primary interface between site resident contractors and site Maintenance Coordinators & Maintenance personnel to coordinate support for maintenance activity.

Prepares work packages to include job plan, work order, and materials for contractor required activity.  This activity will involve walking down jobs in the field to establish a detailed job plan and bill of materials.

Manage contractor backlog and routinely communicates status to appropriate supervision and area specialist/ coordinators. 

Reviews all completed work orders to document completed work, records material used, returns unused material to Stores, and determines craft hours spent versus the job plan estimate.

Publishes established planning and scheduling performance metrics for the work group.

Participates in the routine maintenance prioritization, planning, and scheduling meetings.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

3 – 5 years minimum experience in industrial construction and/or maintenance.

Demonstrated ability to operate computers and WINDOWS software such as WORD, OUTLOOK and EXCEL.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and estimate.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead and to work with others - teamwork.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and through influence.

 

The following skill sets are preferred, but not required, by the business unit:

Demonstrated proficiency using the SAP system.

Construction planning background with experience in industrial manufacturing environment

Construction estimation background

Ability to sequence job activities, acquire documentation, procure material, use specification references, prepare sketches and maintain records.

Ability to interpret blueprints, bill of materials, and detailed drawings.

Ability to learn new skills and work methods, acquire process knowledge.
