Cardiac/General Anesthesiologist – Washington, D.C. – MedStar Health MedStar Health’s Anesthesiology Group seeks a full‑time Cardiac/General Anesthesiologist to join the team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The role is a 50/50 split between cardiac and general anesthesia; a 100% cardiac role may be considered upon request. MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a quaternary care center and Level 1 trauma center located in the heart of Washington, DC. The Anesthesia Department serves over 40 sites, including 30+ ORs, Endoscopy, EP Lab, and Labor & Delivery. The department is highly collaborative and focuses on excellent patient care and a positive, supportive work environment. Qualifications Board certification in Anesthesiology. Completed fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology (required). Current state license to practice anesthesia. Experience with both cardiac and general anesthesia preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and decision‑making skills. Responsibilities Provide anesthesia care for cardiac and general surgical cases in an acute care setting. Pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative management, and post‑operative monitoring of patients. Collaborate with surgery, critical care, and other interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in departmental quality improvement, simulation training, and education programs. Adhere to MedStar Health policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
