As a Sr. Backend Software Engineer, you will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver scalable, secure, high-performance web applications. You will be responsible for designing and implementing both backend and frontend solutions, leveraging C++, Python, and AWS technologies. Your expertise will be critical in building and maintaining our applications, improving code quality, and ensuring seamless integration across our tech stack. We thrive in a hybrid work schedule in downtown Seattle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and document software.
  • Lead architectural improvements and design decisions.
  • Process and store real-time data in a cloud-based, microservice environment.
  • Drive projects, mentor colleagues, and lead improvements.
  • Write extensible, scalable, high-quality customer-facing code.
  • Integrate in-house and third-party applications and APIs.
  • Work with raw avionics data feeds, networking data, messaging queues, and database records.
  • Manage bugs and application issues.
  • Have a DevOps, SecOps, QA approach to all code.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years proficient in Python and C++, minimally.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • 5+ years leading projects to on time delivery, exceeding customer expectations.
  • 5+ years developing in the AWS cloud ecosystem, utilizing AWS services.
  • 3+ years developing in containerized environments.
  • 3+ years developing on Linux based servers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate to address problems promptly.
  • Thrive in a small, fast-moving, Agile methodology team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Educational and Physical Requirements:

  • The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, and this position must reside within a 30-mile radius of Seattle.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder).
