Director - Transaction Advisory

OverviewDirector – Transaction Advisory/Financial Due Diligence at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). We are seeking a Director to join our Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) and help our clients get the answers they need to complete transactions. TAG provides buy-side and sell-side financial accounting due diligence, capital markets and accounting advisory, global transaction analytics, ETS advisory and other related M&A services for private equity, hedge funds, sovereign wealth, family office and corporate clients. The team operates across multiple offices in the United States and internationally.We look for energy, passion and expertise to deliver value to sponsors and lenders through integrated due diligence that focuses on key value drivers and goes beyond traditional quality of earnings analyses.ResponsibilitiesCounsel and mentor Associates, Senior Associates and Managers.Effectively lead the team in conversations with clients and lenders.Manage and prioritize team responsibilities and proactively consult with Managing Directors and senior team members as appropriate.Oversee all aspects of deals with limited guidance from Managing Directors.Manage multiple chargeable and non-chargeable projects of varying size and complexity.Identify potential transaction risks and implement strategies to address risks.Generate a full due diligence report.Lead the Quality of Earnings, P&L and Working Capital analyses.Communicate regularly with clients regarding engagement matters (e.g., billing, status updates, scope of procedures, scope changes, request lists).Effectively manage day-to-day client interaction and relationships and continue to emphasize A&M capabilities.Develop and propose creative solutions to engagement and transaction risks and effectively manage problem resolution.Help engagement executives maximize client value by monitoring engagement leverage, staff efficiency, and appropriate T&Es billed.Proactively recruit, train, and develop individuals of all levels for TAG.Engage in training initiatives, including developing and teaching courses as appropriate.Display a core understanding of all TAG services (FDD/ODD) and strive to cross-sell TAG and other A&M services where appropriate.Adhere to risk management guidelines and engagement review memo procedures.Gather conflict check information and coordinate with Managing Directors to set up engagement codes and requirements.Assist Managing Directors and Senior Director in sales and business development efforts.Contribute to sales pursuits by generating new client business or adding on business from current clients.Manage engagement risk and potential client or engagement issues appropriately.QualificationsA minimum of 8-10 years of financial accounting due diligence experience at a top accounting firm.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and/or related major.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in the process of obtaining one.Working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and purchase accounting.High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong project management skills.Flexibility to work as both a team member and as an individual contributor.Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings.Your journey at A&MWe recognize that our people are the driving force behind our success and prioritize an experience that fosters professional and personal development.
