APP Anesthesiology ICU Fellow/UKHCThe Critical Care Medicine Division of the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a post-Acute Care APP Fellow to add to its practice of 50 Attendings with 10 Board-certified intensivists and 15 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) as we expand our current service line.ResponsibilitiesManage highly complex and critically ill populations including hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neuro-interventional patients following aneurysm coiling.Provide care for post-thoracic surgery, liver transplants, and patients on ECMO.Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.Participate in case management and continuing care of complex post-surgical patients.Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high quality care.Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team.Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects.QualificationsAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) with appropriate certification.No prior experience required; preferred experience in critical care.Physical ability to lift, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds.Required EducationMSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants.ShiftVaried; includes days, nights, and weekends.CompensationSalary Range: $71,323 - $131,685 per year.Application Deadline01/26/2026Equal Opportunity / EEO StatementThe University follows both the federal and state Constitutions as well as all applicable federal and state laws on nondiscrimination.
