In Raytheon’s GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps.   We are seeking a GNC Engineer to support our Advanced Products & Solutions strategic business unit. This position will help strengthen our Tactical Strike capabilities. This role is required to be onsite in Tucson, AZ but enjoys a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) and a highly collaborative team environment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide onsite support during flight test events, then lead GNC Pre-Post flight analysis of those test events
  • Support scenario development, conops and briefings
  • Support the integration and development and release of Captive Carriage and Free flight test software and tools
  • Support failures investigation, Root cause and corrective action analysis
  • You will have the opportunity to travel for both missile and captive flight tests, providing real-time and post-mission navigation system performance analysis. (Amount of travel is approximately 10%) 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of guidance, navigation and/or controls related engineering experience
  • Experience with system performance
  • Experience with Matlab, C, C++, and/or Object Oriented design.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working on Navigation systems such as GPS and IMU
  • Experience supporting activities leading to flight test such as IFS and CIL performance analysis, ensuring compliance to performance metrics prior to software release.
  • Experience supporting missile and captive flight tests, providing real-time and post-mission navigation system performance analysis.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate activities across multiple facilities and locations.
  • Results-oriented work ethic and able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and other engineering disciplines.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
