Job Summary: The MEP Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of construction projects. This role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure that MEP systems are installed according to design specifications, codes, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all MEP work is performed to the highest quality standards, adhering to project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Work closely with the project management team to develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that MEP activities are aligned with the overall construction timeline.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee the work of MEP subcontractors, ensuring that they adhere to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Problem Solving: Identify potential MEP-related issues and proactively develop solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Cost Management: Monitor MEP-related costs and work with the project manager to ensure that the project stays within budget.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of MEP activities, including daily logs, inspection reports, and change orders. Provide regular updates to the project manager on the status of MEP systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all MEP work is conducted in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP systems, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior staff and provide support in resolving complex technical issues.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in MEP supervision within the construction industry, preferably in [insert relevant sector, e.g., commercial, industrial, residential, etc.].
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP) are a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and installation practices.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Working hours are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.Note working hours may vary depending on the project's needs.

This position will be working with internal staff and partner firms/ and subcontractor staff.
