Sr. Solutions Architect

Job Description S2 Global, an OSI Systems Company located in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect. S2 Global is the leading provider of security screening solutions, offering program assessment, technology deployment, operation management, image analysis, and maintenance services at major events, ports, land borders, and air cargo facilities. With a focus on Operations, Integration, and Training, its solutions enable customers to significantly enhance their screening capabilities. The Senior Solutions Architect will possess experience in AWS and/or Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, Tanzu, and MinIO. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to architect, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters using VMware Tanzu technology, working on hybrid cloud environments. They should have hands‑on knowledge of deploying, managing, and optimizing the MinIO object storage platform—covering configuration, scaling, security, data lifecycle, and integration with other systems. The role includes leading design and development of architectural changes, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient implementations that meet organizational needs. Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) clusters across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes manifests and Tanzu tools to automate deployments, scaling, and updates. Utilize Terraform (or similar IaC tools) to define and manage Tanzu cluster infrastructure through declarative configuration. Implement security best practices within Tanzu environments, including role‑based access control, network policies, and image scanning. Proactively monitor Tanzu cluster health and performance; identify and resolve issues related to application deployments, network connectivity, and resource utilization. Collaborate with development teams to integrate Tanzu clusters into CI/CD pipelines for seamless application delivery. Install, configure, and manage MinIO clusters on bare metal, virtual machines, and Kubernetes. Optimize MinIO performance; monitor and troubleshoot issues; adjust storage configurations for specific workloads. Implement data‑retention, archiving, and deletion policies within MinIO. Secure MinIO deployments through access controls, encryption, and auditing. Develop applications that utilize the MinIO API for data storage and retrieval. Troubleshoot technical issues related to MinIO deployments. Coordinate with stakeholders to design and develop secure architectures that integrate with S2 Global CertScan products; submit and gain approval for technical designs. Manage AWS/Azure accounts, design VPCs, and implement services to support security and networking needs. Support multi‑customer global cloud designs with interconnected VPCs and reliable connectivity. Administer AWS EC2 and Azure services, contribute to technical design documentation, operational policies, and procedures. Oversee performance monitoring and analysis of cloud infrastructure for security, usage, and cost metrics. Develop cost‑efficient environments; track and report resource usage and related costs. Collaborate with the development team to deploy system changes via CI/CD processes. Administer cloud resource access, including account provisioning and tracking service utilization. Develop and maintain incident response protocols and operational safeguards. Perform operations and administration for Windows and Linux resources, domain, data storage, and database services. Uphold the company’s core values and code of ethics. Report quality problems to managers or senior management for corrective action. Adapt to modified duties as needed to meet business requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of professional experience in cloud service development and administration. Deep knowledge of Kubernetes core concepts, best practices, and exposure to container orchestration. Familiarity with VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, Tanzu Application Platform, and related components. Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their container orchestration services. Expertise in infrastructure automation with Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet. Proficiency in Docker concepts and container image management. Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python for automation. Proficiency in a programming language used with MinIO (Python, Go, Java, or C#). Familiarity with integrating MinIO within major cloud environments. Experience deploying and managing MinIO clusters with Kubernetes. Strong Linux system administration knowledge. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or equivalent Azure certifications) preferred. Hands‑on experience with hybrid cloud implementations, secure on‑prem connections, and industrial control system (ICS) integration. Experience with AWS CloudFormation and/or Elastic Beanstalk for provisioning environments. In‑depth experience in managing AWS or Azure storage and compute, including managed and unmanaged services, network and security controls. Experience configuring and monitoring cloud environments for security, performance, and cost control. Technical knowledge of OS and network security in physical, virtual, container, and cloud environments. Experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise cloud infrastructure solutions. Experience managing firewall and network solutions in multi‑tenant cloud environments. Support for CI/CD release protocols in cloud environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated teamwork and independent work capability. Basic project management skills for planning, leading, and tracking work assignments. Will willingness to work across time zones and attend meetings outside standard hours. Some domestic and international travel (up to 50%+); ability to obtain required travel documents.
