  1. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory records of medical supplies and equipment.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure stock levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the healthcare facility.
    • Monitor expiration dates and manage the rotation of stock to minimize waste.
  2. Procurement:
    • Assist in the procurement process by sourcing medical supplies and equipment from approved vendors.
    • Prepare and submit purchase orders based on inventory needs and usage trends.
    • Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality and safety standards.
  3. Storage and Distribution:
    • Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure efficient access and retrieval of medical supplies.
    • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming medical supplies and equipment.
    • Distribute medical supplies and equipment to various departments within the healthcare facility in a timely manner.
  4. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those set by the FDA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
    • Document all logistics activities, including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns of medical supplies and equipment.
    • Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage patterns, and procurement activities.
  5. Support and Training:
    • Provide support to clinical staff regarding the availability and proper use of medical supplies and equipment.
    • Assist in training staff on inventory management practices and the proper handling of medical supplies.
    • Collaborate with other departments to address any issues or concerns related to medical logistics.
  6. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Coordinate with the Biomedical Equipment Technician team to ensure that medical equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
    • Monitor the status of medical equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or inventory control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification: Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Logistics Technician) is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
    • Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
    • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
