Expedient is actively hiring for a Facilities Engineer to manage the maintenance and facilities operations of our data center in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Previous data center experience is preferred but not necessary. This position is responsible for day‑to‑day maintenance and operational tasks in support of data center operations and the office facility. The role may be called upon outside of normal business hours and is customer‑facing, representing Expedient while working with clients and vendors both on and off‑site. Strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills. Strong verbal and good written communication skills. A healthy respect for utilities, tools, power systems, and the safety required when working with them. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with electrical systems, simple controls, and mechanical systems. Ability to read, comprehend, and work from technical documents, blueprints, one‑lines, and electrical schematics. Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC equipment is a plus. Microsoft Office and basic computer skills are not required, but a willingness to learn is expected. Responsibilities Electrical repairs and hard‑wiring installation of 120/208 Volt circuits, including 208 Volt 3‑phase circuits. Partner with a wide variety of vendors, providing access to secure areas of the data center and monitoring vendor work. Monitor and schedule vendor repair of UPS, HVAC, motors, controls, plumbing, backup generator systems, and similar equipment. Repair and maintain all aspects of the physical plant, with a focus on electrical systems. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance; handle non‑scheduled or emergency work when required to support continuous operations. Analyze and solve electrical and mechanical problems that cause interruptions or limit productive capacity of all data center equipment. Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations. Physical Tasks Lifting – frequently light items and occasionally heavy equipment or parts. Manual dexterity – operating tools, working on equipment, and installing equipment. Climbing and balancing on ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling into tight spaces as required. Salary for this position is directly based on your experience and skills. The estimated range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000 annually. Expedient is an equal‑opportunity employer.
