Medi-Cal Communications Consultant

About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Specialist with experience in Medi-Cal to support the execution of a strategic communications plan. This role involves working closely with a strategic communications consultant to develop, refine, and deliver regulatory and tactical communications for a healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in health plans and Medi-Cal, focusing on content development, staff-facing communication, and regulatory communications.
What You Will Work On
- Partner with an external strategic communications consultant to implement and execute their strategic communications plan.
- Write and develop various forms of communication, including regulatory updates, announcements, and internal content, with a focus on healthcare topics, particularly those relevant to Medi-Cal.
- Present communications to front-line staff, ensuring clarity and accessibility of information for diverse audiences within the organization.
- Create, edit, and manage communication content for internal stakeholders, focusing on regulatory communication rather than marketing.
- Blend tactical communications planning with content development to ensure efficient execution of projects.
- Act as a liaison between strategic leadership and front-line staff, ensuring smooth communication flow.
- Support communication efforts surrounding regulatory changes, policy updates, and compliance related to Medi-Cal and other health plans.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy in communications.
- Proven experience in communication development, especially within healthcare organizations.
- Deep understanding of Medi-Cal requirements and regulations.
- Experience presenting to and communicating with front-line staff.
- Strong writing, editing, and content development skills, with the ability to simplify complex regulatory information.
- Familiarity with health plans and healthcare regulatory communication.
- Ability to manage multiple communication projects in a tactical, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Experience with change management a plus.

- Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
- Pay Range: $70-100 per hour
