Job DescriptionJob Description

The maintenance control specialist will upgrade, maintain, install and troubleshoot all control issues and projects in the production equipment (examples (but not limited to) PLC, Network, VFD’s, screens, etc.).

Perform upgrades, replacement or installation for all controls equipment (PLC’s processors, cards, VFD’s, Panel views, etc.)

Control and perform periodic equipment backup.

Control the programs and parameters that can be loaded to the equipment.

Perform Preventive and predictive activities to control equipment.

Perform equipment calibrations.

Maintain SCADA system open running and add devices needed.

Support on control or electrical troubleshooting to Maintenance Mechanics.

Assure compliance to GMP’s.

Assist training new employees. Changes shifts and days off as necessary when directed.

Uses safe working practices and reports all hazard conditions at all times.

Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles electrical motors, relays, timers, and all allied electrical equipment.

Possess working knowledge of hydraulic systems, air systems, and be able to read semi-complex diagrams and troubleshoot working systems.

Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing (including all necessary connections), controls, and grounding as directed.

Follow (LO/TO) all Safety procedures and Company Safety Policy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENC:

  • Engineer Degree required
  • Four years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment including PLC, VFD, Vector and Servo system installation and control.
  • Experience working with analog and digital instruments for industrial process controls.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting and servicing power distribution equipment.
  • Design, programming and reprogramming of Allen Bradley PLC and devices (SLC500, Micrologix, Micro series, ControlLogix series, CompactLogix series, Powerflex Drives, Panel views, Network switches)
  • 1-2 Years’ experience with PLC (Rockwell software) controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
  • Implement, design and troubleshoot on different network protocols (Ethernet IP, Device net, control net, Hart, RS-232).
  • Knowledge on identify kind sensors needed for the applications.
  • Must read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints, use simple shop math, and possess knowledge of company, local, state, and federal electrical codes.
  • Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot under high pressure.
  • Ability to interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-am assist in the installation, application, wiring and troubleshooting of electrical systems, components, and sensors peerage measuring and recording devices.
  • Implementing and designing PLC control systems for industrial equipment
  • Developing PLC code, HMI architecture, databases and screens.
  • Must have mechanical knowledge in bearing assemblies, hydraulics, pneumatics and all types of fluid pumps.
  • Ability to perform corrective and preventive maintenance in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and applicable OSHA rules.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred
