Responsibilities

Stamford Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant, to join our Medical Oncology Department The Medical Assistant will assist in the delivery of safe quality care in the ambulatory setting at the Bennett Cancer Center (Medical Oncology and Hematology). This is under the direct supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider or a licensed nurse.

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday hours from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Mobility is necessary to provide patient care. Physical effort is required to assist patients with transfer and ambulation, which may involve lifting, pushing and pulling patients. Hearing within normal range is necessary in order to properly conduct assessments. Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Qualifications

Work requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years job experience preferred.
  • Certification or Diploma from accredited Medical Assistant school/program
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
