Grassroots Wine is a 20-year-old, family-owned, community-focused, education-centric wine importer/distributor based in Charleston, South Carolina and operating in Alabama and South Carolina. Our portfolio is built around some of the most iconic legacy importers; incredible domestic wine pioneers; and up and coming direct imports and new US wineries. We represent wine from all the world's major growing regions. We very actively promote responsible and innovative farming and production on the supply side and knowledgeable, education focused sales for our customers.

This sales manager position will oversee all aspects of our customer facing operations including:ALL Developing and implementing a comprehensive sales growth management plan for the state
• Managing our amazing 13-member South Carolina sales team and existing supporting managers
• Maintaining and growing our relationships with our customers and the communities we serve
• Running our social media, direct email, and other web-based education and promotion initiatives.
• Coordinating visits and events with our incredible producers
• Working with a budget to provide educational opportunities for our employees, customers, and markets.
• Potentially managing a few select brands or portfolios

What you will bring to the table:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Wine Sales Management, preferably at the distribution level.
• A strong knowledge of the wine industry and specifically the South Carolina wine market
• Work experience in the restaurant industry preferred
• Confidence and the ability to tell stories, both written and verbal, that motivate, develop, and educate others to their highest level of performance.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a high functioning team
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Flexibility of schedule is mandatory; must be able to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability to travel 20-25% of the time for market visits, events, and other business activities.
• A clean DMV record
• Proficiency on Microsoft Office and a general ability to learn other technological sales/management software tools.
