Roles and Responsibilities The Chief Architect & Head of Cloud & DevOps, Senior Director of Technology – Digital Banking is the highest-level technical authority responsible for shaping, driving, and governing the architecture, engineering standards, and technology strategy across Tagit’s Digital Banking product lines—Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Family Banking, and foundational Digital Banking Components. This role leads three strategic pillars: Cloud Architecture & Platform Modernization DevOps, Automation, and Engineering Excellence Digital Banking Product Architecture (All 4 Sub-Groups) The position provides technical leadership across the organization, ensuring that Tagit’s digital banking platforms are secure, scalable, cloud-ready, and aligned to regional financial regulatory expectations. The Senior Director partners closely with Product, Engineering, Cloud/Infrastructure, Security, and Executive Leadership to steer the overall product and technology direction for Tagit’s clients across APAC and global markets. This is a senior leadership role requiring minimum 15 years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture, digital banking solutions, cloud-native platforms, and large-scale system development and delivery. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture Leadership Define and lead the enterprise-wide cloud strategy, covering multi-region and hybrid deployment models for Tier-1 banks. Establish reference architectures, cloud landing zones, best practices for security, reliability, cost management, and operational resilience. Architect and govern cloud-native microservices, container-based deployments, and scalable multi-tenant digital banking platforms. Evaluate cloud platform capabilities, providers, and tooling to support product scalability and regulatory compliance (e.g., MAS TRM). DevOps & Engineering Excellence Lead the DevOps organization—defining standards, capabilities, roadmap, and KPIs for CI/CD, observability, SRE practices, release automation, and secure SDLC. Institutionalize automation across the engineering lifecycle: build, test, security scans, SBOM generation, environment provisioning, and deployment. Champion engineering productivity through frameworks, reusable components, development guidelines, and quality gates. Drive operational stability and performance tuning for high-availability digital banking workloads. Digital Banking Architecture (Retail, Corporate, Family, Components) Oversee the end-to-end architecture for Tagit’s digital banking product suite: Retail Banking (consumer banking, payments, transfers, card services) Corporate Banking (entitlements, approvals, multi-signatory workflows, cash & liquidity) Family Banking (multi-party banking, spending controls, minors/guardian flows) Digital Banking Components (session management, authentication, notifications, workflow engines, audit, security modules) Define and enforce architecture blueprints, NFRs, performance benchmarks, and design standards for all product groups. Introduce emerging technologies (workflow engines, event-driven architectures, AI/ML, containerization, etc.) and integrate them into the product roadmap. Guide product modernization and migration away from legacy design patterns and monolithic components. Architecture Governance & Technical Leadership Chair architecture review boards, making final decisions on design, technology stack, and platform strategy. Mentor senior architects, tech leads, and high-potential engineers across product lines and DevOps teams. Conduct quality reviews of solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, cloud patterns, and secure design practices. Support major client implementations by providing architectural oversight, reviewing solution designs, and guiding banks on integration best practices. Stakeholder, Executive & Client Engagement Collaborate with Product Management and Executive Leadership to align business strategy with technical platform strategy. Engage with client-bank CIOs, enterprise architects, and security teams to validate solutions and address risks. Support RFP responses, pre-sales architecture, and client workshops for strategic deals. Essential Qualifications Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, and digital banking technology delivery. Proven experience as Chief Architect, Principal Architect, Director of Technology, or equivalent senior leadership role in enterprise-scale digital platforms. Extensive experience architecting cloud-native platforms, microservices, containerized applications, and CI/CD-driven environments. Deep understanding of Digital Banking domains across Retail, Corporate, and multi-party workflows. Strong expertise in: Java/Spring ecosystem, microservices, API-led integration Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP or on-prem Kubernetes/OpenShift) DevOps pipelines, GitOps, SRE, observability, automation Containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker/Podman) Demonstrated experience leading large engineering or architecture teams, including DevOps/Cloud teams. Background in financial services, banking platforms, or mission-critical systems with strict NFRs. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences. Experience working with regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS TRM, RBI, BSP, security guidelines). Experience with: Business Process Workflow engines Event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ, etc.) High-performance tuning (JVM, DB, caching, distributed systems) Experience introducing and operationalizing emerging technologies that improve scalability, security, and delivery velocity. Exposure to UI/UX frameworks, mobile development ecosystems, or multi-channel digital banking architectures.
