Job Summary
The Physical Therapist (PT) will diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
Primary responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities.
* Restore, maintain, and promote not only optimal physical function but optimal wellness and fitness and optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health.
* Treat patients to prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries wherever possible.
* Engage in the examination process by taking patient history, conducting case review, performing tests and measure to identify potential and existing problems.
* Provide continuing care by implementing interventions (the interactions and procedures used in managing and instructing patients/clients), conducting re-examinations, modifying interventions as necessary to achieve goals and expected outcomes, and developing and implementing a discharge plan.
* Works in conjunction with other team professionals (physicians, nurses, educators, case workers, and insurance adjusters) to provide patient care and family education.

* _Compiles_ information and prepares reports.

* Participates in educational activities.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
*Education *
Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
*Experience*
Must demonstrate competence in services provided. One year experience in a healthcare setting is required.
*Certificates, Licenses, Registrations*
Must be licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Tennessee.
*Additional Physical Requirements or Comments: *
The PT handles light to heavy materials or patients in the therapy process. Physical demands greater than 25 pounds requires knowledge in the use of appropriate equipment and proper body mechanics and lifting techniques. Kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping may be required on occasional to frequent basis.
