*Job Description Summary*

The NICU Respiratory Therapist assists with special projects, validations, and orientations. This position is responsible for having the knowledge and ability to train staff on all NICU equipment.

*Job Description*

* Participates in new staff orientation and annual competency evaluations. Monitors employee validations to ensure completion.
* Participates in creating and reviewing policies and procedures. Participates in department performance improvement programs and adjusts staff assignments for other staff's participation.
* Provides staff development and improvement of clinical skills for clinical team.
* Assists with event/incident reporting for both patients and employee safety occurrences. Reports issues/malfunctions to appropriate departments.
* Functions as department supervisor in his/her absence.
* Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.

* Respiratory Therapist | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
* Respiratory Therapist | Minnesota Board of Medical Practice | Within 6 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources
* Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) | Altru Health System | Within 6 Months of Start Date | Learning Management System
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) | Altru Health System | Within 6 Months of Start Date | Learning Management System

Job Types: Travel healthcare, Contract

Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week

* Monday to Friday

Experience:
* Respiratory therapy: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
* RRT (Preferred)
