When you step into a career with AT&T, you won’t just imagine the future – you’ll create it.OverviewAT&T is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team responsible for the development and enhancement of the AT&T Mobile App. We have 2 opportunities for this role, both Front-End and Back-End development. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions that enhance the user experience for millions of AT&T customers.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers by providing technical guidance and support. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure front-end systems. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements. Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.Architecture and Design: Define and drive the technical architecture and design of the AT&T Mobile App, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards. Evaluate and integrate new technologies and frameworks to enhance the app's functionality, performance, and security.Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software by implementing comprehensive testing strategies and addressing technical debt. Monitor and optimize the performance of the mobile app, identifying and resolving issues proactively.Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mobile app development. Drive innovation within the team by exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to improve development processes and outcomes.QualificationsROLE #1 - Front-EndTechnical Skills required:8+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus front-end microservices and Object Oriented coding concepts3+ years of experience in a leadership or senior engineering roleSenior level technical professional, with at least 8 years of experience in:React NativeNode.jsAPI ServicesROLE #2 - Back-EndTechnical Skills required:Proficiency in these backend technologies:JavaTypescript, Node.jsPythonExperience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party libraries/integrations.Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., JEST, XCTest, Espresso).Strong understanding of mobile app architectures, including MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture is a plusOverall Desirable ExperienceSoftware Development:Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and secure front-end systems.Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, backend engineers, DevOps, and QA, to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and dependencies.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Technical expert in React Native, iOS & Android Development, Node.js and API services.Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions.Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages.Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc. to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associated reporting.In addition to Unit Test, responsibilities may include dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testing.Supports applications and solves configuration and environment issues.Supports the software deployment process.Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Our Lead Software Engineering position earns a competitive total compensation package, plus other rewards that AT&T offers.
