What Youll Do

Join our culinary team as a Cook to prepare wholesome family-style meals that bring joy to our residents, visitors, and employees every day.

Arcadia
  • Full-Time (40 hours per week) - Flexibility to work any shift and any day of the week (including weekends)
Responsibilities
  • Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste.
  • Reviews food menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation.
  • Preps, measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
  • Assists driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery.
  • Portions and arranges food and distributes to waitstaff to be served.
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Labels and dates all food items in accordance with food storage chart.
  • Receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries in appropriate areas.
  • Ensures food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Hawaii Department of Health sanitation standards.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with the Arcadia Family of Companies mission and core values.

Education/Experience

Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Basic skills and ability to learn as needed.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally transfer up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
