Apply TodayJob Summary and QualificationsAs a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the floors of the hospital by performing routine cleanings as scheduled. You will also perform a variety of housekeeping and maintenance duties to keep the hospital neat, orderly, and sanitary.You will maintain the floors in patient rooms, public areas, bathrooms, and officesYou will set up, operate, and maintain all floor care equipmentYou will maintain hard surface floors on a daily basis by mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and refinishingYou will pick up and transport all waste materials including linens, trash bags, and medical wasteYou will move equipment and furniture throughout the facility and perform room setups as requestedYou will be a supportive and positive hospital team memberYou will communicate with hospital team members and supervisors regularly and effectivelyJob RequirementsExperience1 year of previous floor care experience – strongly preferredEducationHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent – preferredSt. David's Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas. This 300+ bed facility features a 24-hour emergency department, the regions largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The full scope of services provided at St. David's Medical Center includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, women's services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center. The facility is home to a 60+ bed rehabilitation hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care. St. David's Medical Center is part of St. David's HealthCare, which is one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area.
