Assists in the annual inspections of gas valves, water valves, fire hydrants, and manholes.Assists in routine wastewater main line cleaning and inspections.Loads and unloads materials and equipment and keeps vehicles stocked with materials.Uses and assists in the mixing of certain chemicals.Uses and maintains various hand and power tools.Cleans, paints and maintains buildings, equipment and other facilities as directed. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.Operates and uses hand tools, small equipment and machinery.Follows proper safety standards, procedures and policies. Performs job duties in a crew work setting. Skills, Experience, and EducationHigh School diploma or GED2-4 years of relevant work-related experienceAbility to use Microsoft Office SuiteRegularly requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouchMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsResidency radius required and must live within 25 miles of Decatur Utilities facility Completion of WorkKeys Assessments to include minimum scores in the following skill level descriptions: Applied Mathematics (4), Graphic Literacy (4), and Workplace Documents (4).
