The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers, guiding them in the development, training, evaluation, and deployment of AI/ML models, ensuring integration into production systems. Collaborate with Platforms & Devices (P&D) product teams and research teams to define and deliver AI-based features, anticipating future needs. Foster relationships and facilitate collaboration with the Mountain View-based team, leveraging their proximity and partnerships with P&D product teams to improve team efficiency and overall impact. Identify common needs across multiple engagements, driving the development of shared infrastructure and foundational models that serve as a common tool set and blueprints for accelerated future engagements. Advocate knowledge transfer and cultivate AI expertise within the P&D product teams, enabling them to independently lead and execute future AI-driven initiatives.
