Job Summary:
Vighter is seeking Psych Registered Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team and make a significant impact on the well-being of the veteran community served by the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate professionals to provide exceptional patient care. Reports to:
+ Project Manager
Principle Accountabilities:
+ Conduct initial assessment on patients; develop nursing care plans based on identified patient needs, coordinate with ancillary services to assure provision of care, document all plans, assessments and care provided.
+ Provide patient and family education throughout the hospitalization. Initiate discharge planning.
+ Document observations, assessments, and changes in patients' condition.
+ Collaborate with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes
+ Provide a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems.
+ Provide care to an array of psychiatric patients including, but not limited to substance abuse, detoxification, major thought disorders, depression, and PTSD.
+ Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Registered Nurse to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
+ Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee's capabilities and job requirements.
+ Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
+ Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
+ Identifies and records signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.
+ Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
+ Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload.
+ Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.
+ Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
+ Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
+ Adheres to strict personal protective equipment guidelines as necessary and/or directed.
+ Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any US state or territory.
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
+ Basic Life Support/BLS (AHA or ARC).
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support/ACLS (AHA or ARC).
+ Proficiency in spoken and written English.
+ United States Citizenship.
Experience:
+ 2+ years of psychiatric experience.
