Job Summary This vital role involves performing nuclear medicine examinations to produce images of organs, assess bodily functions, and analyze biological specimens, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduated from an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology. Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support. Active license or temporary license issued by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) is required. One of the following is required: Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). If performing diagnostic CT, a Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) is also necessary. Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Ability to lift and/or assist patients alongside colleagues to fulfill job responsibilities. Principal Responsibilities Conduct nuclear medicine exams on patients: Prepare patients for the procedure, explain the process, and prepare and administer radioactive isotopes for therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using various radioisotope equipment. Ensure the technical quality of the images and collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens for interpretation. Enter and monitor patient data accurately. Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and assist with applications for ACR and other accreditation. Identify and report any incidents, complaints, or equipment failures to management. Be available for emergency calls within the department. Provide safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; comply with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards while managing budgets, time, supplies, productivity, and service quality. Encourage personal professional growth by meeting continuing education and skills competency requirements; support departmental goals that aid the organization's success; serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource for newer staff members. Show dedication to caring for community members by delivering compassionate and personalized experiences, embodying Memorial Hermann's service standards in every interaction.
