Overview
- The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking academic physicians for a position in our Division of Infectious Disease to serve as a Division Head of the Division. Proven excellence in clinical care and teaching are necessary to join or active, growing program. This outstanding opportunity exists to immediately assume a leadership role as UICOMP Division Head of Pediatric Infectious Disease. The position requires Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- This physician will be responsible for the overall operation of the division so that, as a whole, the division supports the mission of UICOMP and Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI). This includes education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy. Research interest are encouraged.
- Lead the development of a Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- Establish and maintain effective education programs in Pediatric Infectious Disease for medical students and residents.
- Collaborate with other faculty in maintaining excellence in general pediatric education.
- Stimulate and nurture scholarly activity within the Division.
- Establish an area of research interest and academic activity.
- Maintain a clinical service program to meet regional needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide a full spectrum of Infectious Disease.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
- Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).
- Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
- Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
- Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
