AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for a dynamic and energetic full time Pediatric Surgery leader to join our team at AdventHealth Tampa.
This is a wonderful opportunity to continue to build on our strong practice with our network of hospitals in the Central Florida division. Responsibilities of the Medical Director will include programmatic development, clinical quality and performance improvement. Call coverage at AdventHealth Tampa with full time APP support (no trauma, no ECMO at Tampa). New physician will help grow the outpatient clinic practice and further develop relationships with community physicians with marketing support.
AdventHealth for Children has partnered with AdventHealth Tampa with a vision to create and deliver high quality pediatric care elevating the local market and keeping kids close to home with a seamless connection to quaternary services in Orlando. Our pediatric surgery team based in Orlando will also provide some coverage to our full-time surgeon in Tampa.

Requirements of the position:
- Fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery

This is an employment opportunity that includes the benefits of second call coverage and competitive compensation. Hospital DescriptionAdventHealth Tampa is a not-for-profit 536-bed tertiary hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, primarily serving Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and other surrounding counties. The hospital specializes in cardiovascular medicine, digestive health, neuroscience, orthopedics, womens services, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures. AdventHealth for Children Walt Disney Pavilion
As part of AdventHealth Tampas collaboration with the Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children, patients will have the support of a full service, tertiary childrens hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 peds ICU beds with a dedicated peds CICU, a 102 bed NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, the regions only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017. Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one childrens hospital at the center totals over 23,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. These 30 hospitals refer patients for tertiary and quaternary services to our main location near downtown Orlando. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida. In 2019 through 2024, AdventHealth for Children is recognized by US News and World Report as the best Childrens Hospital for newborn care in Florida.
