- **BASIC PURPOSE**

The purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Lodi Hope Harbor Building, assist with all program set-ups, light maintenance, and backup warehouse coverage.

- **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Vacuuming all carpeted areas.

- Sweeping and mopping all hard surface flooring, daily

- Buffing tiled floors.

- Dusting all surfaces including office desks, counters and windowsills.

- Trash collecting for entire building.

- Bathroom cleaning of toilets, floors, counters, sinks and mirrors.

- Replenishing bathroom supplies as needed.

- Cleaning glass doors inside and out.

- Keeping inventory of all janitorial supplies and placing restock orders monthly.

- Clean and empty outside trash can(s).

- Program set-up of tables and chairs as assigned by Facility Manager.

- Daily communication with Facility Manager.

- Changing of lights as needed.

- Cleaning of Hope Harbor vehicles.

- Donation pick-ups at various drop off stations.

- Responsible for laundering and re-packing all overnight bedding, daily

- Cleaning and disinfecting of overnight dorm.

- Oversight of Program Clients.

- Ability to fill in/cover front desk shift when/if needed

- Performing any other work necessary to maintain the appearance, cleanliness and safety of Lodi Corps Hope Harbor Shelter

- **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS**

- Minimum of 6 months prior experience in a maintenance, custodian, or janitorial position;

- High school diploma or GED required

- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

- Must possess a valid California class C driver's license;

- Must satisfactorily participate in the Driver Fleet Safety Program;

- Good communication skills are required. Must be able to comprehend English instructions and communicate clearly when answering the telephone and greeting visitors.

- Must have the ability to operate a switchboard, including paging.

- **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**

- Must possess a valid California **Class C Driver License**, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle

- Must be 21 years or older.

- Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program

- Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

- **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

This position requires:

- Frequent lifting of 30 pounds or more;

- Frequent climbing of ladders;

- Good mobility with the ability to climb, crawl, bend and have good dexterity in regard to grasping, reaching, and handling.

- The ability to operate indoor cleaning machines (i.e., vacuum, buffer) and grounds keeping equipment (i.e., lawn mower, edger, blower).
