00 gross signing bonus at hire and $2500.The Department of Human Services (DHS) is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner within its Client Services Entry Bureau/Crisis Intervention Center in the Behavioral Healthcare Division. Crisis Intervention Center (CIC) serves as the receiving, walk-in, and drop-off facility for Behavioral Emergency Services (ES) assessments, the site for Office-Based Crisis Stabilization Services (OBCS), and managing in-office supports with the Emergency Team. This Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will support the ES/Crisis Intervention Center and participate in an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, pharmaceutical, and administrative staff to provide services, collaborate with external providers, and incorporate health and wellness needs into the overall plan of care of the client's serviced.

Supporting Office-Based Crisis Stabilization (OBCS) services and assisting with medical triage, monitoring, treatment, medication administration, and oversee medical services provided to clients while in the CIC and/or admitted to OBCS services;
* Performing comprehensive assessment of mental health to include patient history, functioning, and service needs, and assuring comprehensive healthcare needs are identified and treated;
* Conducting point of care testing, including vital signs, urine drug screen, and breathalyzer tests; Ordering and interpreting laboratory data and radiological tests;
* Collaborating with external providers and incorporating health and wellness needs into the overall plan of care for clients served;
* Developing treatment plans, including the prescribing and dispensing of medication and documenting clinical care and services provided in the electronic health record;
* Referring to community health care providers for further assessment and treatment; Educating clients about their illness and providing health management information and techniques.

A Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, which required a clinical mental health practicum prior to graduation involving diagnostic and treatment services; Crisis services or crisis unit such as a hospital emergency department;
* Working in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit; Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Must be certified or eligible for certification as an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The Board of Nursing and the Board of Medicine may issue certification by endorsement to an applicant who has been certified as a Nurse Practitioner by another state, the District of Columbia, or a United States possession or territory. gov/Boards/Nursing/.
