Job Summary: The RN has the principal responsibility for the total care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans, provides, and documents care and teaching rendered. Assures a plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through personal performance and supervision of subordinate personnel performance. Meets departmental nursing care standard through appropriate cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms. Manages all supplies and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers. Qualifications/Reporting: Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School Required minimum experience: One year experience as a professional RN in a medical setting preferred. Required skills (if applicable): The ability to read and write English. Effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions in English. Other languages a plus. Demonstrated ability in basic nursing practice. Required license/certification: Valid Texas licensure (RN or GN); BCLS required. ACLS required for charge position is recommended. NRP required within three months of hire date.
