Site Reliability Engineer – $150,000–$195,000ISC2 East Bay Chapter – Sunnyvale, CA, United StatesJoin our collaborative environment where engineers solve complex problems and secure cloud and container environments for thousands of customers worldwide.Role SummaryAs a Site Reliability Engineer at Fortinet, you will design, build, and improve the infrastructure for the Lacework Cloud Security Platform. You will automate operations, enhance scalability and reliability, and support the Lacework platform across our cloud accounts.ResponsibilitiesAutomate operational workflows to improve efficiency of the Lacework platform.Design, build, and improve infrastructure to enhance service scalability, resiliency, and efficiency.Identify mission‑critical problems and solve them via automation, tooling, communication, and informed design.Build and improve monitoring and instrumentation to predict future scalability or failure risks and resolve before they impact customers.Facilitate company‑wide visibility into key metrics, SLAs, and milestones.Develop best practices with engineering/operations teams to improve scalability and reliability of internal processes.Participate in an on‑call rotation.Minimum Qualifications3 years of DevOps/SRE experience with production systems.Strong development and automation skills.Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.) and supporting tooling (Atlantis, ArgoCD, etc.).Extensive experience with Kubernetes and supporting tooling (Helm, operators, etc.).Extensive experience with AWS EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Secrets Manager, etc.Experience building production‑quality cloud infrastructure with effective monitoring and high availability.Strong passion for automation to create simple repeatable dev and ops patterns.Strong cross‑team communication skills.Experience with load balancing, distributed/cloud computing, containers, instrumentation, and monitoring.Knowledge of cloud networking, including VPC configuration and cross‑cloud connectivity.Familiarity with one or more programming languages (Python, Golang, etc.).Preferred QualificationsExperience with monitoring and observability systems and tools (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, DataDog, etc.).Strong emphasis on “as code” practices.Experience with Java application servers and JVM configuration.BenefitsFortinet offers medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, sick time, and a comprehensive leave program.
