Director of Nursing – LakeHouse Senior Living Join LakeHouse Senior Living, part of the Discovery Senior Living family, to lead nursing care in our communities across Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. Pay Range Base: $75,000–$80,000 per year. Position Summary Responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well‑being of the residents within the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures the community follows all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they pertain to clinical care. Collects, analyzes, and reports occurrence trends, and, if necessary, develops and implements improvement plans. Partners with the Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain resident and team member health safety. Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents. Provides clinical expertise to licensed nurses. Assists with educational presentations as assigned by the administrator. Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/service‑plan process, including documentation for residents with a change in health‑care status. Oversees the completion of monthly updates and reports any pertinent changes to the responsible party. Reviews and discusses potential changes in service/medication levels with other department coordinators if applicable. Ensures the resident’s service plan is updated as indicated by state regulations. Participates in community awareness activities and community relations. Maintains communications with residents’ families and/or responsible parties regarding changes in care or health concerns. Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable. Schedules clinical staff on a monthly basis. Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available. Participates in a rotating on‑call schedule. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides supervision to LPNs, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as assigned to assure delivery of consistently high‑quality care to residents, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Educational Requirements and Experience Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing; Registered Nurse preferred. One (1) year in a nursing leadership role; Senior Living experience preferred. BSL Certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications. Interest in working with a senior population. Effective communication skills, including speaking the primary language of the residents. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical abilities: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Respond promptly to resident needs. Work primarily indoors in a climate‑controlled setting. Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous materials, medical waste, unpleasant odors, and chemicals. Physical Requirements Employees must regularly stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands or arms; sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance or mechanical devices. Must be able to push up to 350 lb. Specific vision abilities: close and distance vision.
