Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Unit Based Pool, PRN Nights

Job Summary:

A clinically competent Registered Nurse who utilizes the nursing process under the direction of the hospice provider RN to deliver care from adult (age 18 years) to geriatric population as defined in the unit-specific structural standards of the assigned area.

Skills & Abilities:

* Read, write and comprehend medical terminology;
* Effectively convey verbal and written information and medical terminology;
* Perform mathematical calculations correctly;
* Organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities to make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards;
* Respond to emergency situations appropriately;
* Adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospice residence, including all shifts;
* Effectively function as a member of a collaborative team;
* Demonstrates leadership potential;
* Comply with OSHA standards; and
* Understands and respects importance of patient privacy and confidentiality;
* Develops and promotes a constructive/positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to maintain cooperation with and assist fellow health team member, physicians, intra and inter-departments, hospital, hospice providers and nursing administration.

Qualifications

* Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
* More than 12 months nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
* Current AHA BLS certification required.
* Must meet all unit specific certification requirements: (PALS, ACLS, NRP)
