Department Information The Student Engagement and Well-Being marketing & communications team supports the division with strategic communications, writing, editing, public relations, graphic design, social media, videography, website support, and advertising. Job Summary Design and implement communications strategy and programs for a division of Georgia Tech. Serve as a representative within the Institute and with external entities regarding communications issues that impact campus-wide stakeholders, and advise the division leadership team on strategic communications. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage all communications-related activities, including developing a strategic communications plan. Liaise with internal and external media and other departments. Work closely with Institute Communications to engage, cultivate, and manage press and external relations for division projects, programs, and events. Serve as the division’s liaison with Institute Communications for crisis communications. Ensure tactical execution of communications, review and approve all marketing and communications material, and administer the division’s communications budget. Create, maintain website(s) and other electronic/digital/social media to inform, promote, and enhance visibility. Produce updates of public relations written materials, announcements, and other communication documents. Provide marketing, promotional, and recruitment assistance to division management. Perform and oversee communications activities such as research, project planning, metrics, marketing analytics, branding, and related areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience: Six to seven years of related job experience. Preferred Qualifications Strong background in retail marketing, including developing retail marketing strategies, point-of-sale marketing, merchandising, and customer engagement. Proven experience leading integrated communications and marketing strategies across complex organizations. Demonstrated success in brand strategy development and implementation at the organizational level. Strong leadership and team management skills, guiding cross-functional teams. Experience with data-driven decision-making and analytics to measure campaign effectiveness. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences. Proficiency in crisis communication and reputation management. Familiarity with digital marketing ecosystems, including SEO/SEM, social media, and marketing automation. Experience working in a matrixed or decentralized organization, influencing without direct authority. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities This role requires proficiency in writing, editing, copywriting, project management, and knowledge of production processes for printed and electronic media.
