Position Summary

The heavy Equipment Operator will safely and efficiently operate a wide variety of heavy equipment vehicles that perform the spreading and compaction of construction demolition, commercial and residential waste. Heavy equipment Operator will be cross trained as a Rear Load Driver and must hold a class A or B commercial driver’s license.

Work Environment and Expectations

The normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or operating equipment.

Shifts are Monday – Friday starting at 5:30 am and shifts are typically 10 hours per day.

Starting pay is $25-30 per hour.

Drivers receive a $2 per hour safety bonus that immediately goes into effect

Drivers are currently being offered a $4,000 sign-on bonus based on experience.

Qualifications

2 years of previous experience operating heavy equipment

1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.

Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with an airbrake endorsement.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Holds an acceptable driving record.

Ability to work independently and on a team.

Strong customer service skills

Good time management skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Operates equipment and vehicle by Atlas Disposal Industries safety rules and operating procedures, Occupational and Safety Health Act, Department of Transportation requirements, and all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.

Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).

Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.

Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle.

Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required or directed by the Supervisor.

Works closely with Dispatch and Supervisor to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.

Immediately notify the Supervisor or Dispatch of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

Performs other duties as assigned.
