The Role

In this position, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed cost estimates for complex commercial steelwork. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure precise bids, efficient project execution, and maintain our reputation for excellence in the steel industry.

You will be responsible for

  • Blueprint and Specification Review: Analyze architectural and engineering plans, blueprints, and project specifications to determine the scope of work, material quantities, and labor needs for steel fabrication and erection.
  • Detailed Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing, ensuring all factors are accounted for.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Source and negotiate quotes from steel suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors to find the best pricing and solutions, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate bids and coordinate with the team on project needs, changes, and client requirements.
  • Risk Analysis & Market Insights: Continuously assess project risks, market trends, and material cost fluctuations to refine estimates and ensure competitive, realistic project bids.
