Senior Services Midland County Council on Aging Qualifications Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven leadership experience, with demonstrated success in program and organizational development. Background in human services or business/public administration strongly preferred. Experience in aging services is highly desirable. Reports To Board of Directors Performance Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Vision Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of short- and long-term strategic plans that align with the mission and vision. Anticipate changes in the external environment and adapt strategies accordingly. Stay informed of trends, legislation, and best practices affecting older adults and caregivers. Program and Service Development Provide leadership in creating and expanding programs and services that are mission-driven, meet documented community needs, and demonstrate effectiveness. Regularly evaluate existing programs for quality, impact, and relevance, incorporating community feedback and client response. Ensure services are high-quality, evidence-based, and adaptable to the changing needs of older adults and their caregivers. Fiscal Management Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure fiscal health. Expand and diversify funding streams, including grants, donations, contracts, and earned revenue. Ensure compliance with all financial, contractual, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the Board’s Finance Committee to sustain a solid financial foundation for both current operations and future growth. Community and Public Relations Serve as the chief spokesperson and ambassador for the organization. Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies, and the public. Oversee marketing, outreach, and communication efforts to increase visibility and awareness. Advocate for policies and practices that improve the lives of older adults. Board Relations and Governance Collaborate with the Board Chair and members to support governance and advance strategic priorities. Ensure timely communication and provide the Board with necessary information for informed decision making. Partner with the Nominating Committee to recruit, orient, and engage diverse and skilled Board members. Leadership and Organizational Development Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership team and staff. Conduct annual staff performance reviews and ensure access to professional development resources. Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethical practices. Oversee effective management of human resources, including compliance with policies and laws. Support the recruitment, engagement, and recognition of employees and volunteers.
