2 days ago Job Description Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Clinician Nurse to join our Travel Medicine team Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. Provides and manages direct nursing care to patients with a specific disease or health condition. Autonomously and in collaboration with sponsoring physicians, provides advanced assessment, planning, implementation, intervention, and evaluation skills. Provides follow‑up care to pre‑established patients using written protocols within the scope of practice and PNHS standards. This is a unique position where the nurse is functioning at the top of their nursing license (while working under protocols and standing orders). They will have their own schedule of patients and will providing education and vaccines to patients that are traveling abroad. Will teach safety with regards to food, water, and insect precautions. They will work autonomously but will collaborate with a team of highly skilled RN’s in this role. This person should have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience. No new grads. Experience with adults and children is helpful. Should be comfortable giving vaccines to all ages. Public health experience is helpful (not required). Someone who has traveled aboard is helpful (not required). Ambulatory experience helpful. Epic experience helpful. Will be expected to take the ISTM (International Society of Travel Medicine) certification exam within 2 years (paid for by PN). Work Schedule Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Required Qualifications Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Associate degree in nursing will be considered if currently enrolled in or willing to matriculate to a Baccalaureate degree program in nursing. A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in the specialty area of clinical practice are also required with either degree. Licensure/Registration/Certification: The candidate must also have successfully completed a formal training program or equivalent approved job preparation to qualify for certification (if available) in the specialty area of nursing. Certification in the clinical specialty (if available) or in Ambulatory Care Nursing is required within two years of hire. The incumbent must maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge of age‑related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients. Able to operate the following safely and effectively: various health testing devices (depending upon the area of specialty), telephone, CRT, printer, and photocopier. Preferred Qualifications Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Baccalaureate degree in nursing Licensure/Registration/Certification: NA Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong clinical and human relations skills Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
