Job Description

Senior Millwright Team Member

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Millwright to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with substantial industrial experience who thrives in a hands-on environment. As a Senior Millwright, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of plant machinery, leading repair projects, and mentoring junior millwrights and apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow IATF16949 and ISO14001 work instructions and training protocols.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of plant machinery, including gear reducers, bearings, belts, and couplings.
  • Rebuild and repair equipment as necessary, ensuring machinery functions optimally.
  • Install new equipment, adhering to design drawings and safety guidelines.
  • Fabricate equipment using steel or wood based on instructions or blueprints.
  • Execute welding, torch cutting, and layout work as required.
  • Perform building repairs and yard crane repairs (excluding electrical work).
  • Lead rigging tasks and oversee the safe handling and movement of heavy objects.
  • Enter and complete work orders using basic computer skills.
  • Obtain forklift or man-lift certification through the company's licensing program.
  • Lead improvement and repair projects, defining work scope and managing timelines.
  • Mentor and train other millwrights and apprentices to foster team growth.
Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • AWS Certificate, Associate's degree in a related field, Welding Technology Certificate, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience as a millwright.
  • Competency with various millwright procedures demonstrated through hands-on tests (including fabrication, rigging, and conveyor maintenance).
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to lead projects and train junior team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with equipment fabrication and rigging.
  • Forklift or man-lift certification (or the ability to obtain one).
