RN Per Diem Program II for West 4 Acute Care for the Elderly Join Highland Hospital of Rochester NY as an RN Per Diem Program II for West 4 Acute Care for the Elderly. This 8‑week program requires a minimum of 48 hours per week. Job Description West 4: Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE)/ Alternate Level Care (ALC) – 36‑bed unit specializing in geriatric medical patients with acute and non‑acute needs. Position Summary Provides professional nursing services for patients and their families and/or for the nursing department. Collaborates with other health care providers and team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses use the nursing process and evidence‑based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care. Level II Registered Nurse Role Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Level II RN is accountable for competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process. The Level II RN may assume expanded unit roles as available and assigned by the Nurse Manager as a charge nurse or preceptor. The Level II RN supports peers in delivering patient care, uses appropriate team communication methods, and practices care that reflects patient condition and priorities. The Level II RN provides support to team problem solving, identifies opportunities for self‑growth, contributes to the development of other learners, and contributes to a safe unit environment and operations. Pay Range Minimum $38.76 - Maximum $50.33 per hour. Job Requirements Minimum 6 months RN expertise in an acute care setting at the time of initial hire. BS in Nursing preferred. Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers).
